Language Controversy Rises to Climax in NepalCurrent burning issue of Nepal is about Vice-president Paramananda Jha’s oath in Hindi. Oath taken by Vice-prez in Hindi was declared illegal by Supreme Court of Nepal and ordered to swear in Nepali language before seven days or resign from the post on this Sunday.

The initial reaction from vice-prez regarding the verdict by SC is blaming to the SC. Jha blamed that SC is out of its working criteria. Some Terai based political parties are also protesting against the verdict of SC. Some Maoist leaders are also supporting this but most of the political parties are claiming that VP should retake oath or resign from his post.

According to the reports, VP Jha is in the mood of resign.

It is obvious that the action taken by VP Jha by taking oath in Hindi is really controversial and against the Nepali sovereignty. It is better to retake oath in Nepali rather than to resign from the post. The resignation may lead country to more confrontation and hamper the new constitution making process.

Chuck him out before he resigns. People who can't respect their mother tongue should not be allowed in the ministry.

If a person takes oath in a language in which he feels comfortable, what's wrong in that? I don't think this should matter till the time he is committed to work for the nation.
